"The Evil Inside: Women in Greek Tragedy"

Why are the most famous women in ancient Greek tragedy presented as so evil? The speaker will discuss the characterisation of certain female figures, including those in the Festival's productions this year, and show how these images reflect ancient Athenian ideas about women and their social roles.
